Serenity Space Brings New Life, Wellness and Connection to Columbus’ Linden Community
America Community Facelift Corporation launches its first community revitalization project while building a larger vision for healthier, greener and more connected neighborhoods.
A once underutilized parcel of land in Columbus, Ohio, has been transformed into a place designed to encourage peace, connection and community pride.
On July 24, America Community Facelift Corporation (ACFC USA) officially unveiled Serenity Space, its first community revitalization project in Columbus’ Linden community. For the family led nonprofit, the project represents much more than improving a physical space. It is the first visible step in a broader mission to help historically underserved communities experience revitalization physically, emotionally, socially and economically.
Serenity Space was created as a welcoming environment where residents can connect with their neighbors, experience nature and enjoy a space intentionally designed with wellness and belonging in mind.
Made possible with support from The Neighborhood Design Center and SWACO, the project demonstrates what can happen when community engagement, thoughtful placemaking and environmental stewardship come together.
At the heart of ACFC USA’s work is a simple but powerful belief: beauty and belonging should be accessible to everyone.
Rather than approaching revitalization as something that simply happens around residents, the organization emphasizes community participation and resident led stewardship. Its goal is to transform vacant and underused spaces into neighborhood assets that residents can take pride in, enjoy and help sustain.
Serenity Space is only the beginning.
Building on the momentum of the project, ACFC USA has launched an ongoing series of community workshops focused on sustainability, environmental stewardship and neighborhood engagement.
The next workshop is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Linden Branch, with programming centered on plants, seeds and gardening education.
